Transfer from Tbilisi or Kutaisi city/airport to Mestia, rest, have a dinner and get ready for adventure.

Overnight in the guesthouse

For most groups it’s suggested to fly to Kutaisi, since it's closer to Mestia and the flights are cheap (Wizzair) especially in winter season.

(Elevation Gain 1000m, Elevation Loss - 1300m)

This morning we will meet the guide and start the skitouring in Georgia. In case the group is well prepared and the weather is relevant we will go up above Mestia in the Koruldi lakes area. Passing the forests of Mestia, will reach the point from where there is a great view towards the Mestia area, the cross looking down the town. Then we will reach the famous cloudbase hut and continue beyond that. We may even reach the koruldi lakes area which is turned into a snow field or descend earlier.

Option 2: We will be transported to Tetnuldi resort for freeriding. Guide will explain and prepare us for the next few days. Tetnuldi ski resort is at the foot of glaciers. Atmosphere is perfect and we will be just below glaciers, descending from the resort and enjoying freeride.

Overnight in Mestia.

(Elevation Gain/Loss - 1100m)

We will drive to Etseri village and will spend a day at the foot of Mount Ushba (4710 m), one of the most impressive peaks in the Caucasus Mountains. From the village Etseri we will ascend north of Meziri mountain to the height of 2640m where there is a cross erected.  We will enjoy beautiful slopes, pass, snowy summer huts and enjoy the views towards the whole Caucasus mountain range Ushba, Shkhara and Tetnuldi summits as well as Svaneti range with the impressive Lahili summit.

Overnight in Mestia/Mazeri

(Elevation Gain - 1000m, Elevation Loss 1500m)

This day we will ascend towards the Guli pass which is one of the highest destinations near Mestia during the summer hiking season. Guide decides how far we can go up depending on the weather and snow conditions. From Mazeri village of Becho community we will ascend through forests then alpine slopes and have the view towards Becho and Lenjeri communities, towards Ushba summit and Lahili (Laila summit). The highest point we can reach is the ridge above Guli pass 3100m

Overnight in Mestia/Mazeri

This day we will be transported to Ushguli. Ushguli is the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe, located at 2200 meters above sea level. We will experience a total change of scenery, enjoy tasty meals and local hospitality. After checking in at our guesthouse we will leave bags and ascend 3050 ridge of Launvari (lamaria) between Shkhara glacier and Zagaro pass. From there we will enjoy views towards the Svaneti ridge, Enguri gorge and its birthplace Shkhara and the main caucasus ridge including the impressive Ailama summit (4547m). Then we will ski down to the guesthouse and warm up before dinner.

Overnight in Ushguli

(Elevation Gain/Loss - 1100m)

This morning we will ascend Gorvashi (Latpari) pass area which is on the other side on the ridge of Svaneti looking directly at the main Caucasus ridge from the south. To get there we will need to ski first between the old towers of Chazhashi village. From the ridge which is between 3000 and 3100 meters we will admire a magnificent panorama offered by the largest Caucasian mountains, on the border between Upper and Lower Svanetia.

Overnight in Mestia/Latali

(Elevation Gain - 1000m, Elevation Loss - 1500m)

This day we will drive towards the Tskhumari community, Lezgara village. This route is one of the best for ski touring and the possible vertical is even 2100m but we will ascend 1350m in most cases. This route is on the foot of the 4000m Lahili (Laila) summit and we approach the Chizhdi pass which is 3097m from the sea level. After the village we will pass beautiful forests, alpine valleys, summer huts and will reach one of the best panoramic views. Even the highest summit of Europe, Elbrus is visible from here in good weather. And not just Elbrus, a big section of the Caucasus including Shtavleri, Ushba, Asmashi and other summits.

Overnight in Mestia

This day we will be transported back to Kutaisi or Tbilisi. In case of free time in the morning we can enjoy skiing and freeriding in another resort of Svaneti – Hatsvali. It has beautiful forested areas and is one of the best locations for freeriding. After this we will have a long drive to Tbilisi or Kutaisi or directly to the airport. In case the flight is the next day, accommodation in Kutaisi or Tbilisi can be arranged before the flight.
