Horse riding tour in Georgia starts in Omalo. Usually we have booked your guesthouse in Omalo so you need to communicate your driver’s number to us.

You will make it to Omalo by private transport arranged by us from Tbilisi, or by bus to Alvani, then a shared jeep to Omalo. This is the cheapest option.

You will rest in a guesthouse and have dinner. In the morning your horse guide arrives and you will start horse riding tour in Omalo.

It can be a different price for an English speaking horse rider but it depends on availability. Georgian speaking horse riders charge less. This is a 3 days horse riding tour, with a total of 4 nights included in the package. Total number of days you need for this tour is 4 or 5.

How to get to Omalo:

Price doesn’t include transfer to Omalo. It costs 20 gel per person to get to Alvani, from there a shared taxi is around 250-300 gel total. Direct transfer may be around 550 gel per way from Tbilisi hotel till Tbilisi hotel.

Overnight in Omalo.

Horse riding from Omalo to Beghela

After the breakfast we will starts the horse riding tour in Tusheti (Tucheti). First, we will get familiar with our horses and ride them on a flat, wide track to Kumelaurta to get familiar with them. Then starts the climb to the Oreti lake - first through the beautiful forest, then through meadows and pastures. From the lake, lying right below the Russian border, we will admire almost the whole Tusheti.

Horse riding from Beghela to Girevi via Nakaicho pass

Today, we will continue horse riding tour in Georgia and follow the dirt track into Tushetis Alazani, one of three main valleys forming Tusheti (but the one that sees very few tourists). We will pass numerous traditional Tush villages - pictoresque Dochu lying deep in the valley, Bochorna, the highest village in Georgia and many others.

Horse riding from Girevi to Omalo via Dartlo

Starting in the morning from Girevi you will soon make it to Georgia’s one of the most romantic villages – Parsma, you can go up or continue forward to Dartlo. It should be an easy ride till you will reach this village which is a dream place where you will feel yourself in middle ages. 1850m from sea level at the banks of Tusheti’s Alazani river, Dartlo has homestays with tasty mountain food, cheese, Dartlo Café, where you can stop and rest. In case of interest you could visit villages of Kvavlo and Dano above Dartlo from where there is a breathtaking view. After the rest, you will continue towards Omalo – cross the pass – beautiful meadows where two different valleys of Tusheti merge.
