  We, 3 hikers from Germany and New Zealand contacted Davit for advice on hiking in the mountains of Georgia. We ended up booking a hiking tour through Racha and Svaneti.... read more We all agreed that this was the best decision. Our guide Lexo, the accommodation at local homestays, transport, food and of course the trails, everything was perfect in organisation and experience/enjoyment. Even, when one of our group had to pause for one section of the trail, due to a foot injury, an ideal solution was found so that the rest of us could continue, and he could meet us later.
The trails Davit picked were scenically spectacular and just the right mix of challenge and enjoyment. Seeing Europes tallest mountains ( sorry Mt. Blanc, you still have to grow a bit ) unfold in front of us, the wildflower display on the mountain slopes and the amazing villages in upper Svaneti, these are impressions forever in our memories. Top-highlight: the overnight camping trip to (infinity-pool like) Udziro lake in Racha. Just awesome.

  We are three trekkers , not young, that made a trek for seven days in the Mestia area, four days from Mestia to Ushguli, one day to Gvibari mountain near... read more Ushguli and two more days from Etseri to Mazeri and to Ushba waterfalls.   We initially contacted Davit to use his professional expertise to help us plan an itinerary, something that i expected would take a couple of hours. However, Davit provided significantly more... read more help than just that - he gave us suggestions on places to stay, options on where to hike (factoring in weather on those specific days and my interest in photography).

Not only that, he also checked in with us regularly during our trip, and helped us modify the plans on the fly as we went along. We managed to optimize our trip significantly based on his advice - in fact, the one place where we felt we didnt do a good job was when we decided to over-rule his advice and book based on something we had read.

Even with accommodation - some places we booked on our own and other places on his recommendations - and pretty much in every case, the places he recommended provided better value.

Lesson learned - listen to Davit, he knows what he is saying!

Quite honestly, the time spent and amount of services provided were far in excess of his professional fees. And he is a very nice, modest, extremely honest and hardworking person. Our guide spoke English and all our nights were spent in local villages where hosts were the most hospitable people, The food was freshly made and delicious. Georgian wines are superb made by ancient 5000years old technology. Hospitality is a trademark of Georgian nation no matter what province you are visiting.
And the trip was not expensive at all.
